London - Blackburn Rovers came from behind to claim a 3-2 win over close neighbours Burnley at Ewood Park in the English Premier League on Sunday. Robbie Blake's early strike for the visitors was cancelled out by goals from David Dunn, Franco Di Santo and Pascal Chimbonda in the first half before Chris Eagles' late consolation for the away side.
It was just the third time this season that Blackburn have claimed three points and the win lifts Sam Allardyce's men up to 12th place on 10 points, two points and two places behind Burnley.
In an action-packed first half it was Burnley who took the lead just five minutes into the match as Robbie Blake's superb strike from 25 yards flew past Paul Robinson in the Blackburn goal.
But the home side responded within minutes through David Dunn's excellent finish after good work from Franco Di Santo.
And it was the young striker, on loan from Chelsea, who gave Rovers the lead in the 23rd minute with a simple header from close range after confusion in the Burnley penalty area.
The points appeared to have been sealed for the home side in the dying minutes of the first half as Pascal Chimbonda broke through the away defence and finished neatly.
Burnley however were given late hope in the 90th minute when Stephen Jordan squared from the left for substitute Chris Eagles to score from close range, but Blackburn were able to hang on to claim the victory.
Manchester City travel to Wigan in the second of Sunday's matches with Mark Hughes's team looking to claim a win that would take them to third place in the table.
