Paris - Peugeot has launched a frugal, eco-friendly version of its 207 hatchback which emits fewer than 100 grams of carbon dioxide (CO2) per 100 kilometres. The 1.6-litre engine in the Economique produces 90 horsepower with a CO2 output of exactly 99 g/km.
Peugeot said the low consumption figures had been achieved with the help of aerodynamic modifications, a higher final drive ratio than the standard model along with adjustments to the engine management software and new Michelin tyres with reduced rolling resistance.
