Beirut - UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Michael Williams expressed concern Tuesday about the overnight blast which rocked a village east of the southern port city of Tyre, wounding one person. "We are very concerned by the reports of the explosion which took place last night in the area of Tayr Felsay," Williams said.
"We are keeping a close eye on this because of its relevance to Resolution 1701 while waiting for the outcome of the UNIFIL and Lebanese army investigations into this incident," he said after meeting premier-designate Saad Hariri.
The Lebanese army and the United Nations Interim Forces in southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) continued Tuesday investigating to find out the causes of the explosion that wounded Abdel Nasser Issa, a Hezbollah member.
