Hamburg - Felipe Massa may return to driving a Ferrari Formula One car as early as Monday if he gets the all-clear from the FIA Friday but the Brazilian admits he is unlikely to compete in the final two F1 races of the season. The Ferrari driver, who has been out of action since sustaining head injuries during qualifying for July's Hungarian GP, had already ruled out a return at his home GP in Sao Paulo on October 18 and now admits there is little chance of him making the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
"My dream would be to be at Abu Dhabi, but the chances of this happening are very, very low," said the 28-year-old.
"My hope is to come back soon, although I know the ideal thing is to return 100 per cent at the start of next season."
Massa spent two days this week in a racing simulator at Modena in an effort to show his return to fitness from the injury sustained when a rear suspension spring fell off the car of Brawn GP driver Rubens Barrichello car and hit him on the head.
If motorsport's ruling body gives him the all-clear at his medical check-up in Paris, then he could be back on the track as early as Monday.
However, due to a ban on mid-season testing Massa will instead practice at Barcelona in a Ferrari 2007 with Bridgestone tyres used in GP2.
In 2010, Massa will partner two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, who replaces Kimi Raikkonen.
