London - Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant has returned to Portsmouth for a second stint as director of football, the Premier League confirmed on Wednesday. The 54-year-old Israeli, who took Chelsea to the Champions League final in 2008, returns to Portsmouth in the role he took from 2006 to 2007.
Ali Al Faraj completed his 90 per cent buyout of the club from Sulaiman Al Fahim earlier this week.
Grant is set to work alongside manager Paul Hart as they try to get themselves off the bottom of the table after picking up just three points from their first eight games.
