Copenhagen - Should Danish Crown Prince Frederik be elected member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) this week, he could well draw on Dutch Crown Prince Willem Alexander's experience. In remarks on the sidelines of the ongoing IOC session in Copenhagen, Willem Alexander said he had discussed the Danish prince's candidacy, adding that "he (Frederik) phones me now and again to discuss it," the Danish news agency Ritzau reported Tuesday.
Willem Alexander has over a decade's experience of the IOC, the highest decision-making body in the Olympic movement. "He can look forward to an interesting job," he said of the Danish royal.
The 41-year-old heir to the Dutch throne met his wife, Australian- born Crown Princess Mary, during the 2000 Olympics. They were married in 2004, and have two children.
