Maranello, Italy - Felipe Massa said he would not be rushing to make a return to Formula One racing as the Brazilian looks forward to test driving at Ferrari headquarters this week. Massa is in Maranello for simulator tests and is due to start test drives using Ferrari's 2007 car from Wednesday.

"I have a great desire to get back to racing, but I need to wait for the right moment, when I am completely fit again," the Brazilian said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday.

Reports say Massa is looking for a possible return to racing at the November 1 season finale in Abu Dhabi.

In his interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, he ruled out a comeback at his home Grand Prix on October 18 as being "too close to the limit."

In-season testing is banned in Formula One, but the motorsport's governing body FIA said Massa could test in a two-year-old car using GP2 tyres at Ferrari's Maranello base.

Massa drove a kart in Brazil last week for the first time since he fractured his skull in an accident in qualification for the Hungarian Grand Prix two months ago.
