Wellington - New Zealand police manned a cordon around 15 square kilometres of North Island farmland on Monday as they searched for a gunman wanted for questioning about a murder. They said a body had been found in the crashed car of the suspect, named as David John Bourke, 46, from Wanganui, and he had also shot and wounded a farm worker near the small town of Norsewood, 215 kilometres north of the capital, Wellington.
Farmers and other residents in the district had been told to stay inside behind locked doors since the hunt began Sunday afternoon.
