Suzuka, Japan - Formula One driver Timo Glock will not race in Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix after the Toyota driver crashed into a tyre wall during qualifying session a day earlier. The 27-year-old German, who has not yet secured a drive with a team for next season, had to be treated at the scene and was then taken to hospital with a leg wound.
"I ca not stretch the leg, can exert no real power," he said at a press conference.
Physical therapists tried well into the night to get Glock in shape for the race.
Japanese substitute driver Kamui Kobayashi was turned down to race in his place, so only 19 drivers will be at the start.
German Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel took pole position during Saturday's crash-marred qualifying which had to be stopped three times after accidents.
