Madrid - Spanish giants Real Madrid announced on Saturday that Cristiano Ronaldo will miss Sunday's high-profile clash away to Sevilla. Ronaldo, the world's most expensive player, suffered a twisted right ankle in Wednesday's 3-0 Champions League thrashing of Olympique Marseille, in which he scored two goals.

Coach Manuel Pellegrini does not want to risk Ronaldo against Sevilla , who are third in La Liga, three points behind joint leaders Real and Barcelona.

Real's other injury victims are Lassana Diarra, Alvaro Arbeloa, Fernando Gago, and Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
