Suzuka, Japan - Toyota driver Jarno Trulli Saturday logged the fastest round in the last practice run ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix, taking advantage of dry conditions after rain in earlier sessions. Trulli put Toyota ahead on home soil in the third and final practice run, finishing the 5.807-kilometre circuit in 1:31.709 minutes, 0.062 seconds ahead of Swiss rookie Sebastien Buemi in Torro Rosso.
Williams-Toyota driver Nico Rosberg came in 0.634 seconds behind at third, followed by Sebastian Vettel - 0.705 seconds behind - in Red Bull. Kimi Raikkonen in Ferrari came in fifth.
Championship frontrunner Jenson Button was ninth. The Briton could clinch the title on Sunday with two races to spare if he makes fove points more than his Brawn-GP teammate Rubens Barrichello. The Italian finished the practice run in seventh position.
Australian driver Mark Webber, who ranks fourth in the driver's standings, had to give up shortly before the end of the practice session after crashing in Turn 9.
Button leads the standings with 84 points, 15 points ahead of Barrichello and 25 ahead of Vettel.
Lewis Hamilton, who won last week's Singapore Grand Prix only made 16th position ahead of the qualifying session later in the afternoon.
