Washington - A senior US diplomat held several days of talks with Cuban officials during a visit there earlier this month, the US State Department confirmed Tuesday. Bisa Williams, a deputy assistant secretary of state, extended her trip to Havana by several days following a public meeting September 17 to discuss restoring postal service between the two countries.
The meetings were at the highest level between Washington and Havana in years as the two countries explore the possibility of improving relations after decades of estrangement.
