Paris - The French government has suspended its military cooperation with Guinea after security forces in the capital Conakry killed at least 87 opposition demonstrators, the French Foreign Ministry said Tuesday. "France has decided on the immediate suspension of its military cooperation with Guinea. It will also reexamine all of its bilateral aid," the ministry said in a press statement.
France has demanded that the European Union meet in Brussels Wednesday to decide on further measures.
"France reiterates its condemnation of this savage and bloody repression," the statement read.
