Madrid - Marc Bertran, captain of Spanish Liga side Tenerife, will be out of action for around four months. The 27 year-old right-back suffered a badly broken right ankle in Tenerife's 3-0 defeat away to leaders Real Madrid on Saturday. Bertran's injury was caused by a horrible foul by Real left-back Royston Drenthe, who did not even receive a yellow card.
Drenthe, who made a rare start in Manuel Pellgrini's team on Saturday, called Bertran on Sunday to apologize.
Tenerife, who returned to La Liga in August after a seven-year absence, have made an acceptable start to the season and are in 13th place.
