Washington - The United States had for some time shared intelligence on Iran's second nuclear facility with Russia and China, according to a report Saturday from US broadcaster CNN citing a US government official. According to the report, US President Barack Obama used the information to move both countries to agree to possible sanctions against Iran.
Obama's strategy to build a coalition with China and Russia had already borne fruit, the unnamed politician was cited as saying, referring to recent remarks by Russian President Dimitry Medvedev.
Contrary to Russia's prior position, Medvedev has indicated that Russia as a UN Security Council veto power could support sanctions against Iran.
