Singapore - Lewis Hamiltonwas fastest in the final free practice session Saturday for the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix. The McLaren-Mercedes driver recorded a time of 1 minute 47.632 seconds for the 5.067-kilometre Marina Bay Street Circuit ahead of qualifying later Saturday, 0.277 quicker than second-placed Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull.
Nico Rosberg was third fastest in a Williams, seven tenths of a second slower than Hamilton, followed by Heikki Kovalainen in the second McLaren.
It with was a disappointing session for Brawn GP with championship leader Jenson Button finishing down in 14th and teammate Rubens Barrichello facing a possible five-place penalty as he looks like needing to change an engine part.
Ahead of Sunday's race, Button heads the drivers' standings with 80 points, followed by Barrichello on 66 with only four races remaining.
Vettel is a distant third with 54 points and his Red Bull team- mate Mark Webber has 51.5.
