Madrid - The fourth round of the Spanish league programme ended late Thursday with a 1-1 draw between Sporting Gijon and newly promoted Zaragoza. Gijon took the lead in the 29th minute when a shot from Diego Castro was deflected into his own goal by Zaragoza defender Francisco Pavon.
Zaragoza dominated the second half and Colombian midfielder Abel Aguilar made it 1-1 after the Gijon defence failed to clear a corner.
"We worked hard tonight and deserved at least one point," said Aguilar.
The draw leaves Gijon in 12th place with five points and Zaragoza 15th with four.
Twin giants Barcelona and Real Madrid share the top spot, with 12 points. In joint third place are Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao on nine points, then come Mallorca and Valencia on seven.
