Budapest - A 34-year-old man who died suddenly of a lung haemorrhage was found to be infected with the A(H1N1) virus, the Hungarian health minister said Thursday. Istvan Szekely told the local news agency MTI that the death was particularly worrying, as the young man did not fit any of the risk groups described by the World Health Organization.

He had showed no sign of fever when he unexpectedly fell ill and died at home. An autopsy revealed infection with the A(H1N1) virus.

It is the second death in Hungary to have been linked to the new influenza virus strain dubbed swine flu because it originated in pigs before mutating and crossing into humans.

A 42-year-old Hungarian man who died in June was already suffering from heart and lung disease when he became infected.

Hungary is due to begin a mass innoculation campaign on September 29 using vaccine manufactured by a local biotech company, Omninvest Kft.

Two million doses will be ready for this first phase, enough for 20 per cent of the population, Hungary's chief medical officer said on Monday.
