Islamabad - At least six people, including two women, were killed in north-western Pakistan on Wednesday after neighbours clashed over annoying cellphone calls, police said. The gunfight took place following a heated argument between the two groups in the Sarobi Bandai village of Karak district.
The two sides had a brawl four months ago when one of the families received a series of calls from a boy from the other family. The issue propped up again on Wednesday.
"During the quarrel, they drew arms on each other and the ensuing crossfire killed six people," local police officer Akleem Khan said.
Two of the dead were women, while another was removed to the hospital with bullet wounds, Khan added.
Karak is a Pashtun-dominated area and people of this ethnic background are known for their inclination towards seeking revenge, causing long-running feuds.
