San Francisco - A little-known rapper who sang about the joy of murder appeared in court Monday in connection with the killing of four people whom he met through his MySpace page. Richard McCroskey, 20, whose stage name is Syko Sam, was charged over the weekend with the murder of Mark Niederbrock, a Virginia pastor, whose daughter, Emma, had contacted him over MySpace. Three other bodies were also found at the home where Niederbrock's corpse was discovered by police. They have not yet been officially identified but are believed to be those of Emma, a friend of hers and another female.
Police discovered the decomposing bodies at the home of Niederbrock's estranged wife, Debra Kelley in Farmville, Virginia, after a woman called investigators to report that she had not heard from her daughter for days.
Police believe that McCroskey and Emma Niederbock became friends through MySpace. But McCroskey's gruesome lyrics became reality after he flew to visit her in Virginia on September 6 and then killed her and three others in her home.
On his MySpace page, the red-haired McCroskey described himself as a fan of the so-called horrorcore genre, which glorifies violence with lyrics set to hip-hop beats. He posted songs with lyrics such as "I have killed many people and I kill them real slow. It's the best feeling, watching their last breath."
