London - Everton confirmed on Thursday that they have signed Australia defender Lucas Neill on a one-year deal. The 31 year old was a free agent after leaving West Ham United at the end of last season, and so was not subject to the restrictions of the transfer window. Neill passed a medical at the club's Finch Farm training ground on Thursday morning.
