Tokyo - Stocks climbed in Tokyo Thursday as exporters were helped by a better-than-expected rise in US industrial production and resources companies by increases in commodity prices. The Nikkei 225 Stock Average was up 120.55 points, or 1.17 per cent, in morning trading to 10,391.32.

The broader-based Topix index also gained 7.09 points, or 0.76 per cent, to 938.52.

On currency markets at 9 am (0000 GMT), the dollar traded at 91.03-06 yen, up from Wednesday's 5 pm quote of 90.27-30 yen.

The euro traded at 1.4704-10 dollars, inching up from late Wednesday's quote of 1.4703-06 dollars, and at 133.90-91 yen, up from 132.75-79 yen.
