New York - Filmmaker Tyler Perry's latest comedy, I Can Do Bad All By Myself, opened atop North American box-office rankings in its first weekend in cinemas. The movie, starring Perry as the volcanic African-American matriarch Madea, sold 24 million dollars in tickets from Friday- Sunday.
A distant second in revenue in its first weekend in cinemas was the animated 9, which grossed 10.9 million dollars in the three-day period. The movie follows dolls that survive humanity in an apocalyptic future.
