Monza, Italy - Michael Schumacher has renewed his deal as Ferrari advisor until 2012, the record world champion said on Friday on his website. Schumacher said thjat he agreed on the three-year extension on Thursday in a meeting with Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo.
"I am very happy about this as I always liked to be part of the Ferrari family. We agreed that I will give my input more and more into the GT-department, the area of the road-cars," said Schumacher.
Schumacher, 40, has been an advisor for the famous team since his retirement from racing in 2006. He won five of his seven world titles in a Ferrari.
Schumacher was set to return to F1 driving in place of injured Felipe Massa last month, but a neck injury denied the comeback.
