London - The British niche super sports car maker Noble has unveiled its latest project, an M600 fitted with a powerful Volvo V8 engine producing 650 hp with a top speed of 360 km/h and accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in three seconds. The lightweight 1,275-kilogram body with carbon fibre panels is strengthened with a steel tube frame with handling optimised by a 40/60 weight distribution.
Driver assistance systems like ESP (Electronic Stability Control) or anti-lock brakes are absent to provide "purist" driver control. But a lever in the passenger compartment can be activated for traction control in difficult driving conditions.
Other features include 19-inch alloys in the front and 20-inch alloys in the rear, leather upholstery, aluminium pedals, sports steering wheel and carbon fibre trim.
Celebrating its premiere at the Goodwood Revival September 19 - 21, the car can be ordered for a price of around 230,000 euros (329,000 dollars) and is clearly aimed at the McLaren F1 super sports car buying segment.
