Frankfurt - The South Korean car maker Kia is taking up the gauntlet in the highly competitive European compact van segment dominated by the Renault Modus and Citroen Picasso in launching the five-seater Venga early next year. Based on the study "Nr 3" seen at the Geneva Show earlier this year, the Kia Venga celebrates its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in September.
Seating five, the Venga measures 4.07 metres in length, has a height of 1.6 metres and a wheel base of 2.62 metres. It is positioned below the compact Kia Cee'd. The rear seat can be folded down, giving the vehicle an even loading space.
Customers can choose between petrol and diesel engines in the range 55 kW/75 hp to 85 kW/115 hp. The price has not yet been revealed.
