Prague - Czech striker Jan Koller said he was quitting international football after a lackluster 2010 World Cup qualifier with Slovakia which ended in a 2-2 draw, media reports said Sunday. Koller told reporters after the match late Saturday that he decided to end his international career and would not play Wednesday when the Czech team hosts San Marino.
The Czech Republic needed to win the Saturday's qualifier in order to raise its chances to make it to the tournament to be held in South Africa.
The towering 36-year-old attacker is - at 55 goals for the national team - the best scorer in the Czech Republic's history.
He retired after the European Championships in 2008 but agreed to help the team during its poor World Cup qualifying campaign.
