Powerline with Gigabit speed from BelkinMunich - Belkin is offering a new Powerline adapter, the F5D4076ea, to provide home networking over the power grid. Passing data at speeds of up to 1,000 megabits (one gigabit) per second, a starter packet with two adapters will be available starting in September for roughly 150 dollars.
Nokia to release netbook computer
Espoo, Finland - Nokia has announced the pending release of its first netbook. The Booklet 3G will come with a 10-inch diagonal display and, as with almost all of the sub-compact laptops in that class, an Atom processor from Intel. The mobile computer promises a battery life of up to twelve hours. The Booklet 3G will feature an aluminium casing and weigh in at only 1.25 kilos, the Finland-based manufacturer says. It will include both WLAN and a UMTS connection for mobile internet connection. GPS and a HDMI port are also included in this first Nokia netbook.
160 gigabytes of external storage, in credit card form
Berlin - It has the dimensions of a credit card and can hold up to 160 gigabytes (GB) of data. Freecom is offering a new external mass storage device with a USB port dubbed "USB Memory." The device weighs less than 80 grammes and costs 130 dollars. A variant with 120 GB of capacity is available for around 110 dollars.
Listen Together: New Sony Walkman with loudspeakers
Berlin - Sony now offers a new MP3 and video player with integrated loudspeakers. This makes it easier for the owner of the Walkman S540 to listen to music together with friends. The player supports formats including WMA, ACC, WAV, and JPEG. The new Walkman will be available starting in September in an 8 Gigabyte (GB) version for around 130 dollars and a 16 GB version for around 150 dollars.
