Los Angeles - The California Parole Board denied a parole request Thursday from Susan Atkins, who was convicted in 1971 of taking part in the seven Manson Family killings, including the murder of pregnant actress Sharon Tate. Atkins, 61, is terminally ill with brain cancer and, according to her lawyer, is paralyzed over much of her body. It was her 13th request for parole, all of which have been denied.
Atkins will next be eligible to seek parole in 2012.
