London - An eight-year-old British boy Wednesday flew into the record books by becoming the world's youngest wing-walker, British media said. Tiger Brewer flew at 160-kilometres an hour at an altitude of just over 300 metres on the wing of his grandfather's biplane at an airfield near Cirencester, southern Britain.
Up to now, the world record was held by Guy Mason, the son of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, who first wing-walked in 2001, aged 11.
Two independent witnesses who watched Tiger's flight will send their testimony to Guinness World Records.
Tiger comes from a family of daredevils but had to wait until he was tall enough for his feet to touch the wing.
Tiger admitted he had been a little "scared" on take-off. But the feeling soon passed. "It felt amazing, like I was on top of the world," he said.
