Zagreb - A Croatian court sentenced two married couples, from Germany and Austria, to a "maximum fine" for having sex on a crowded public beach, the daily 24 Casa reported Wednesday. Police arrested the foursome on a beach in the northern Adriatic town of Rovinji last week.
The couples had had sex in the late afternoon sun. Judge Damir Surina found the evidence against them "overwhelming" and ordered them to pay a total of 590 dollars for disturbing the public peace.
"I have never had a case like this - I handed them the maximum fine," the judge said.
