Berlin - The new role playing game "Risen" is scheduled for release on October 2. The title will be published for play on the PC and Xbox 360, publisher Koch Media/Deepsilver says. "Risen" has been developed by the German studio Piranha Bytes, famous for the "Gothic" series of role playing games. The player controls an amnesia-stricken, shipwrecked survivor who is stranded on a Caribbean island. There he is left to fight various monsters, complete tasks, and determine the organisation behind the name "The Inquisition."

The Piranha Bytes game will be joined on the shelves this year by "ArcaniA: A Gothic Tale" from the development team Spellbound.
