Rome - There was no winner Saturday to pick up the potentially record breaking 105.3-million-euro (149-million-dollar) jackpot prize in Italy's state lottery. The Superenalotto draw had attracted millions of punters, including many from neighbouring countries such as France, Switzerland and Austria, who travelled to Italy just to buy a ticket.
Saturday's winning numbers were 7 - 35 - 36 - 41 - 45 and 88.
Draws are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and no-one has won the big jackpot, which increases each week, since January 31, 2009.
The next draw is scheduled for Tuesday, when an even bigger prize will be up for grabs.
The biggest lottery prize in Italy to date is 100.7 million euros, won last October by the holder of a ticket bought in Sicily.
The current ticket-buying frenzy in Italy, has prompted a consumer rights group to seek legal action to have the jackpot prize suspended.
The Codacons group says it wants to safeguard the savings of people who though hard-hit by the economic recession, are still tempted to chance their luck on the lottery.
