Menden,Germany - A car rammed a parade in the German town of Menden on Sunday, killing at least three people and seriously injuring four, officials said. The driver, 79, was treated for injuries after his car pushed 50 metres through the crowd and crashed into an empty parked police car in the town of Menden, 75 kilometres east of Dusseldorf.

A club of marksmen were marching in costume at the time as part of festivities to celebrate their club's 60th anniversary. Police said the collision did not appear to be deliberate.

Terrified people scattered as the car, which was locally registered, drove into the rear of the procession. Dozens were treated for shock and minor injuries.
