Singapore - Singapore on Saturday reported its first death related to H1N1 influenza. The victim was a 49-year-old man with multiple health problems. The patient, who suffered from diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol, was diagnosed with H1N1, also known as swine flu, and died in hospital Saturday afternoon of a heart attack caused by severe pneumonia with an underlying flu infection, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
There are currently 43 confirmed cases of H1N1 influenza in Singapore hospitals.
The city-state reported its first case of H1N1 influenza on May 27.
