Manila - A wealthy businessman was arrested Monday in Manila on charges of large-scale fraud, a non-bailable offence. Police arrested Celso de Los Angeles during a checkup at St Luke's Medical Centre in the capital's suburb of Quezon City. De Los Angeles was a target of a senate investigation earlier this year after his Legacy group of companies went bankrupt allegedly due to unsound business practices and violations of banking laws. De Los Angeles, who is the incumbent mayor of Santo Domingo town in the eastern province of Albay, was also accused of misusing the funds of his companies.
