London - A 14-year-old British boy has died on holiday while on holiday in Thailand after being sucked into a swimming pool pumping system, the Foreign Office in London said Monday. In the incident in the resort of Pattaya, Nathan Clark was reported to have opened a metal vent at the bottom of the pool in an attempt to retrieve his goggles.
Police are investigating how he opened the vent which should have been locked, reports in Britain said. The incident happened last Friday.
A Thai police commander was reported as saying that the schoolboy was swimming with his brother in a whirlpool area when he lifted up a grate to try to retrieve his goggles.
