Amsterdam - Thimotee Atouba is due to leave SV Hamburg to join Ajax Amsterdam, the Dutch club confirmed in an official statement on Tuesday. The 27-year-old has agreed a two-year contract until the end of the 2011 season with an option of extending for another two years until 2013. Earlier on Tuesday Dutch daily newspaper Algemeen Dagblad wrote that Ajax would sign Atouba on a free transfer as he recently refused an offer by Hamburg to renew his contract with the Bundesliga club.
