Manila - Four people were killed and an undetermined number of others were wounded when a homemade bomb exploded outside a Catholic cathedral in a southern Philippine city Sunday, police said. The blast occurred as churchgoers were coming out of the cathedral in Cotabato City, 960 kilometres south of Manila, said police Chief Inspector Alexander Sarabia said.

He said two soldiers and two civilians died in the blast.

"The victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment," he said.
