Madrid - Moroccan and Spanish police have dismantled an Islamist extremist cell that planned attacks in both countries, detaining five people in Morocco, Spanish media Friday quoted Spanish police sources as saying. The suspects had lived in southern Spain, from where police followed their traces to Morocco.
They intended to stage attacks first in Morocco and later in Spain, the sources said.
The case was being handled by a court in Casablanca.
Some reports said the suspects were originally from the Spanish enclave of Ceuta on the Moroccan coast.
