Vienna - Austrian triathlete Lisa Huetthaler was sentenced to a suspended three-month prison term Friday, as a court found her guilty of bribery in an attempt to fudge a doping test. At the trial in the town of Wiener Neustadt, Huetthaler admitted having attempted to bribe a lab worker in Austria's anti-doping laboratory with 20,000 euros (27,900 dollars) in May 2008, the Austrian Press Agency APA reported.
In return, the 2007 national champion wanted to change the outcome of a test that ended up with a positive result for the blood booster EPO.
The verdict and sentence are pending possible appeals.
The now retired Heutthaler, 25, went public in March when she named her manager Stefan Matschiner as her doping supplier. Matschiners seen at the centre of a wide-ranging scandal also involving Austrian Tour de France cyclist Bernhard Kohl.
