La Paz - Eight members of a Mennonite community were jailed Wednesday in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz, accused in the rapes of about 60 women in the municipality of Manitoba and its surroundings, said public prosecutor Freddy Perez. "The men arrested will be charged with the crimes of rape, rape of a minor, rape in a state of unconsciousness and criminal association," Perez said. He said that the suspects are descendants of German immigrants who live in Manitoba, home to one of the oldest Mennonite communities in the eastern Bolivian province of Santa Cruz. The community, which has been in the area for 40 years, works in agriculture and cattle ranching. The alleged victims lived near the Mennonite settlement.

I too am a Mennonite,A born again one, and lived in Bolivia for three years belonging to a different group then these old colony mennonites.I hope these men will be prosecuted to the max. the women and children have been so horendously abused for so long and the men have gotted away with it.If women/children do get born again, become christians, they get beatings and are kicked out, with no where to go [these people are not christians] they and their demons hide behind those bibbed pants. Drugs and alcohol has been a huge problem for very many years.Rape and incest is more rampant with this Old Colony people group then anyother I believe.I have relatives living their and the lady is so brain washed she thinks she has to suffer it out till the end of her life.Deception beyond words!! Very concerned !
