Amman - Jordanian Public Health Minister Nayef Fayez on Saturday announced the discovery of one more swine flu case, bringing the kingdom's total to 12 patients. The 12th person to test positive for the H1N1 virus was a 16-year- old Iraqi girl who arrived from Chicago as part of an Iraqi sports team of 14 people, Fayez said.

The Iraqi girl is being hospitalized to receive the requirement treatment, while the rest of the Iraqi team, arriving on a transit flight, have already left Amman for Iraq.

Jordanian health authorities have alerted the World Health Organization (WHO) to inform Iraqi authorities to follow up the treatment of the Iraqi sports team, Fayez said.

All the previous 11 swine flu patients, who were Jordanians and Palestinians, came from the United States. Most were part of a 300- member Arab delegation taking part in a scouting team in Washington, the minister said.

"They are responding satisfactorily to the medical treatment at hospital," Fayez said.
