Santiago - The Chilean national football team player Rodrigo Millar is sick with the new influenza virus A(H1N1). "I started to have the symptoms Saturday, and on Sunday I went to the doctor's. The doctor said I had all the symptoms (of the new flu)," Millar himself said Monday.

"I have to receive treatment for five days, and then I will not be able to do sports for another five days," the midfielder explained.

Millar was a starter last week in Chile's 4-0 win over Bolivia in the South American qualifiers towards the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. However, there were no reports so far that any other members of the national team may have been infected with the new flu virus.

There are about 2,300 cases of A(H1N1) influenza in Chile, including two deaths.
