Stockholm - The World Health Organization (WHO) has upgraded the threat posed by H1N1 influenza, commonly known as swine flu, to pandemic, reported a Swedish government minister on Thursday. Pandemic is the highest of six danger levels set by the WHO.
The announcement was made during a Thursday news conference by Maria Larsson, minister for elderly care and public health.
She said Sweden expected to get weekly deliveries of vaccines against the new virus, starting in 12-14 weeks, citing deals signed with vaccine makers.
