Paris - Outspoken Lleyton Hewitt Sunday slammed the 10,000- dollar fine levelled on Australia by the world tennis governing body for failing to play a Davis Cup tie in India after battling into the second round of the French Open. "The whole thing is a circus," said the former number one. "The way the ITF went about it was a disgrace in the first place.
"Australia Davis Cup is pretty disappointed about the way they have gone about it. The way the ITF went about this was very ordinary."
Australia refused over security worries to travel to Chennai for the May 8-10 Asian zonal competition, citing security concerns over elections as as well as last year's terror attacks in the sprawling megapolis which killed 150.
