Ben Gurion Airport, Israel - Pope Benedict XVI called Monday on Middle Eastern leaders to leave no stone unturned in the search for peace, and said Christians could help find a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian impasse. Speaking after he arrived in Israel for a five-day visit which would also take in the Palestinian areas, Benedict called for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The pontiff, who was greeted at Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv, by Israeli President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said Israel and the Holy See had many shared values. Every effort, he said, had to be made to combat anti-Semitism. Benedict was scheduled to meet again with Peres later Monday afternoon, before heading to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Centre in Jerusalem, werehe would meet with Holocaust survivors and visit the centre's Hall of Remembrance.
