Los Angeles - Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are expecting twin daughters through a surrogate pregnancy, the couple have announced.

There was no word on whether a medical condition prompted the use of a surrogate mother, or whether the Sex and the City star just wanted to keep her lithe figure.

Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, "are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed," said a statement from their publicists.

The couple have a 6-year-old son, James Wilkie Broderick, and will celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary next month.

Los Angeles - Actor Lane Garrison (Prison Break) was released from a California jail early Wednesday after serving some 18 months in prison on vehicular manslaughter charges.

E Online reported that Garrison, 28, was released from the California Correctional Institute in rural Tehachapi, some 200 kilometres north of Los Angeles, where he was greeted by family and friends.

Garrison was sentenced to 40 months in state prison in November 2007 after pleading guilty to vehicular manslaughter for his role in aBeverly Hills crash that left a 17-year-old boy dead and injured a 15-year-old girl.

At the time of the crash, Garrison had cocaine in his system and his blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 per cent.

"He's done his time and now he's looking forward to trying to move on with his life," a source close to the actor said. The report added that just last week, Garrison agreed to a financial settlement with his victims and their family members.
