Los Angeles - Actor Denzel Washington is likely to star in director Tony Scott's next drama, Unstoppable, Variety reported Monday. In the movie, Washington would play an experienced engineer who jumps in a locomotive with a young conductor to chase down a runaway train carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals.

Mark Bomback has penned the script for the film, which is loosely inspired by a true event. The film will mark the fifth collaboration between Scott and Washington.

*********** Caine and Gordon Levitt join Nolan film =

Los Angeles - Michael Caine and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are joining the all-star cast of director Christopher Nolan's next film, Inception. The science fiction film's cast already includes stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page and Cillian Murphy.

But far less is known about the actual plot with the only detail that has so far emerged being that the story takes place within the "architecture of the mind."

The movie is from an original script written by Nolan and scheduled by Warner Bros to shoot this summer and hit theaters July 16, 2010. According to Variety, Gordon-Levitt will play an associate of DiCaprio's character, who has been described as "a CEO type." Caine will have a brief cameo.

************ Cameron Diaz to star in legal comedy =

Los Angeles - Cameron Diaz might challenge Reese Witherspoon for dominance in the Legally-Blond genre of film in her next movie role.

According to the trade paper Variety, Diaz has signed on to play a "hard-charging ambulance chaser" whose casual attitude towards "legal ethics" leads to her recruitment by a prestigious law firm.

They want her to help out one of their powerful clients who is being sued for sexual discrimination. The client is so distasteful that no regular lawyer wants to touch his case, which gives Diaz her opportunity.

*********** Bello and Nelson join stars in Company Men =

Los Angeles - Maria Bello and Craig T Nelson are joining Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner and Tommy Lee Jones in the independently financed drama The Company Men, according to The Hollywood Reporter Monday.

The plot revolves around the impact that a corporate downsizing has on its casualties and survivors. Bello will play a human resources executive who is forced to fire the character played by Affleck. Nelson plays the CEO of the global conglomerate.

Bello most recently starred in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and will next star in the Rebecca Miller-directed The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. Nelson was last seen in Blades of Glory.
