Los Angeles - With his days as California governor drawing to a close next year, Arnold Schwarzenegger is eyeing a return to the movie business. In an interview posted on his official website, Schwarzenegger said he could make a cameo appearance as soon as next month in Terminator: Salvation, the fourth movie in his trademark franchise about a showdown between humanity and machines.

Schwarzenegger said he's too busy governing to find time to shoot scenes so his appearance will depend on technology that will allow director McG to digitally splice in images of the former action movie star.

"Right now they are looking at the technology to see if it is possible to create a certain technology where they can use my image in the movie without me actually doing the work and filming," Schwarzenegger said.

According to Variety, Twentieth Century Fox has bought the rights to the best-selling franchise and sees Jolie's role as a recurring one through several movies.

In the books, Scarpetta is a brilliant medical examiner who loves to cook and who finds herself embroiled in complex relationships almost as often as hard to crack crimes.

*************** Elton John ends marathon Vegas run =

Los Angeles - Sir Elton John has brought down the curtain on his marathon run of 241 shows in Las Vegas after five years of appearances in the US gambling capital.

John made his last appearance Wednesday night at the Colosseum wearing a bright red shirt and playing a matching red piano.

John began the run in February 2004, originally signing on for 75 shows over three years, but extending his contract due to the insatiable demand of fans.

"I really have enjoyed every single moment of this engagement," said John, 62, as he reeled off hit after hit for the sell-out audience.

In between such classics as Bennie and the Jets, Candle in the Wind, Rocket Man and Your Song, stars such as Justin Timberlake, Pamela Anderson and actor Paul Reubens paid tribute to the British icon in a video segment. John signed off by telling the audience "One day I might even see you in Vegas, OK? But until then, I love you."

************* Lohan takes girlfriend split in stride =

Los Angeles - Troubled young actress Lindsay Lohan, 22, sounds as though she's managing just fine after her recent split from long time DJ girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

Talking on the Ellen DeGeneres show Thursday, Lohan said that the split was easier than expected and she was throwing herself into work with a new sense of purpose.

"I have been through a lot. I was 19 years old when things happened and I'm ready to work," she said. "I'm responsible and I can be on time and I learn from my mistakes. I feel like I want to get my career back in shape."

"I think (the breakup) has been really good for me," she added. "I thought it would be so much harder and it hasn't been."
